Here's something nobody tells you about running a work-from-home type of business: it's a lot of talking to yourself. You end up having full arguments with your screen, asking it why a section is moving by itself. And then you fix it, and there's nobody there to high-five.
Last May, I hosted a meetup for Montreal's Squarespace Circle community. Local designers showed up at a Brazilian coffee shop in the Plateau (as a Brazilian I obviously had to start our meetups there, hihi). There was cheese bread and strong coffee (both on us 😎), and people who got every single thing you just read without needing an explanation.
It was the kind of afternoon that makes you realize you needed it more than you thought. Huh, community actually works!
So we're doing it again. And this time, we brought a photographer. Circle Montreal's second meetup is on June 26 at Kptur Studio, and every single attendee gets a free professional headshot. Here's what to know.
What's happening on June 26
We're taking over Kptur Studio ↗ for the afternoon. It's an all-in-one creative space with lots of natural light and beautiful decor. The studio space will be open for everyone to use, so bring your gear, and arrive on time. I'm sure you'll want the full afternoon to take advantage of it.
Photographer Angela Bouzan ↗ is joining us for the day, and every attendee gets a complimentary headshot with her. If you've been recycling the same photo since 2022 (like me)... this is our moment.

The rest of the afternoon is what Circle meetups are all about: getting to know each other, asking honest questions about work and life, and finally talking in person like normal humans. We'll also spend some time talking about photography for the web: learning what actually planning imagery for clients looks like, working with AI tools, and making sure your images actually help your site. With Angela in the room, the timing couldn't be better.
